QProjector 0.3.0 released on 2008-03-19
What is QProjector? Edit
QProjector is a free (released under the GPL) application to present different types of media on a projector. It's for example usable at church services. The general idea is: easy handling - full control. Arrange a set with the supported media types, start the presentation and still have full control over it. This means you're able to add, remove and change contents during the presentation.
Supported Platforms
- Unix/Linux (no precompiled packages, yet)
- Windows
- Mac OS X not ready (developer needed)
Features Edit
- Expandable through plugins
- Dual screen support
- Style of slides can be changed
- Different presentation modes
- Add/change/remove contents during presentation
- Preview of slides
Currently supported media types Edit
- Lyrics (stored in database, export and import functionality)
- Images
- Texts
- Scripture (based on Sword)
- PDF (based on Poppler)

Documentation Edit
The documentation still needs to be written which should be done on this wiki. You can get information on most of the functionality through the "What's This" help: press Shift+F1 and click on the relevant widget.
Contribute Edit
There are many ways to contribute. First of all just use QProjector and report problems and make feature requests. This can be done on the Sourceforge project site. You can start writing documentation here on this wiki. QProjector is available in English (though my English is far from being perfect) and German. Contact me if you want to correct/improve the current translations or to make a new one (can be the wiki pages, too). Also contact me if you want to contribute as a developer or have any other idea. Or just send me a "thank-you mail" to hold up my motivation
.
Contact Edit
For bug reports and feature requests please use the Sourceforge project site. For discussion you can use the forum on the project site. Anything else goes to dnt |at| users.sourceforge.net
Plans/Ideas Edit
- Mac version
- Movie support
- Letter spacing adjustable
- Style templates
- Transition effect
- Songs: more flexible input of authors
- Using Qt's Graphics View Framework and thus opening a wider range of possibilities for the plugins
There's no fixed roadmap.
